Ms. Rhoda Leshowitz joined Louis Educational Consulting in April 2018 after retiring from a 33 year career at Ramapo College of New Jersey. She brings almost 40 years of career and college admissions counseling experience working with high school and college students. She received her Master’s degree in Counseling from Seton Hall University. Rhoda’s early career began with securing career related paid and unpaid internships in corporations and social service agencies.
She has spent the past twenty five years in the Enrollment Management Department of Ramapo College recruiting, interviewing, admitting and advising domestic and international students. She worked closely with parents helping them with a holistic plan for their child. During her tenure at Ramapo she had many unique opportunities to gain knowledge and familiarity about campuses across the US and abroad. Rhoda was the Campus Liaison for the Consortium program National Student Exchange where she facilitated Ramapo students doing exchange at a counterpart member school and consortium member students could enroll at Ramapo. In this role, she visited many of the over member colleges across the US to learn about campus climate, programs and student body. She was awarded a semester sabbatical to spend a semester in a high school guidance department where she gained familiarity with the other side of the Admissions process.
She has cultivated over the years numerous relationships with school counselors and College Admissions Counselors both in the US and overseas. She is maintaining her membership in the International Association for College Admissions Counselors and will be a Mentor in a University Mentoring Program.
